Australian Labradoodles

We’re thrilled to offer beautiful Australian Labradoodles here at Cathy’s Doodles and Poodles!

First things first—despite the name, Australian Labradoodles are not related to Australian Shepherds. The “Australian” in their name comes from their origin, not their breed makeup.

I’ve admired this exceptional breed for years and have carefully built our program by selecting a few stunning mama dogs and partnering with trusted breeders who offer top-quality studs. This thoughtful pairing allows us to raise outstanding Australian Labradoodles with excellent health, temperaments and coats.

If you’ve never heard of them before, Australian Labradoodles might require a quick Google search—they’re not your typical Labradoodle. While standard Labradoodles in the U.S. are a mix of Labrador Retriever and Poodle, they often lack consistency in coat type and may not be reliably non-shedding.

Australian Labradoodles, on the other hand, are a well-established multigenerational breed developed in Australia. They typically include a mix of Labrador, Poodle, Cocker Spaniel, and sometimes other breeds, and were originally created to be non-shedding service dogs. Their coats tend to be soft, allergy-friendly, and shed-free.

While we are not members of the Australian Labradoodle Association due to our inclusion of merle in our program (which is not recognized by the association), we are committed to responsible breeding. Our parent dogs are  health tested, and our puppies make exceptional companions—whether as therapy dogs, facility dogs, or loving family pets.
